| The following guidance applies to Vital Records: + Records of births during the last 70 years should not be posted. + Records of marriages during the last 50 years should not be posted. + Records of deaths for any year may be posted. + Records of divorces during the last 50 years should not be posted. (My personal preference is 75 years.) |

We are always happy to receive Louisiana source material to be archived, such as: Bible Records, Biographies, Deeds, Marriage Records, Obituaries, Wills, Military Records, etc. If you have a file you would like to donate to help other genealogists and the USGenWeb Archives Project, submit it to the listed File Manager or at genrecords.org |
Use the OBITS form <obits form> when submitting obituaries. If you take the obit from a newspaper, you must have permission from the newspaper. A copy of the permission must be filed with the LA Archives. | |
